Funky Fresh Finds

Epic-melancholic madness careening on the edge of destruction

Why you should see this show…

Music Box is proud to continue the Fresh Finds Concert Series on Thursday, August 29 with Time Cat and Part Time Lover, two funky fresh rock bands that we think you should know about. Time Cat & Part Time Lover bring thrilling high-energy performances that’ll leave you screaming for more.

Fresh Finds Concert Series:

The goal of this new monthly concert series is to shine the spotlight on rising talent that we think you should know about. The bands featured during this series are all at different stages in their musical journey- some are just getting started with the local buzz while others are multiple albums deep. However they’re approaching making music, from indie rock to r&b, folk, blues, or punk, each of these bands should be on your radar in 2019.

Time Cat Bio
Time Cat formed as a 2-piece rock band in 2011 by guitarist/singer Jeri Sapronetti and drummer Sam Caler after they met at the legendary “Jam Nite” hosted by Sapronetti in their mutual hometown Akron, Ohio. They went on to record an EP and album and went across the country multiple times on self-booked tours, and had many grand adventures. They were eventually joined by Colten Huffman, a guitarist turned bassist. Recently, the trio added a new guitarist, Donald Alan, which happened organically and was never forced.

With an ever developing sound, Time Cat has become one of Northeast Ohio’s premier rock bands. With influences like Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, and Jefferson Airplane, listeners are quickly immersed in a world that is familiar, yet completely new. They’ve had the privilege to open for Chrissie Hynde & The Pretenders, Juliette Lewis, Muse, AFI, Fantastic Negrito, and many more. Currently they are completing work on their 3rd studio album while releasing tracks over the summer from an EP.

“I want to say thank you for keeping ’the thing’ alive. I suspect there will be a new wave of bands coming along in these barren times, you at the forefront, and you have given me that hope.” — Chrissie Hynde

Part Time Lover Bio
You can call Part Time Lover a Cleveland super group. Jason Look (guitars/lead vocals) was a member of Prisoners, Pat O’Connor (bassist) was in Coffinberry and both Mandy Look (guitar/vocals) and Roseanna Safos (drums/vocals) still perform with Goldmines.
