Intoxicating Alt Rock Band

Discover the Bands You Should Know

Why you should see this show…

The Dead Licks formed at the University of Dayton, where four friends bonded over their shared love of rock bands like Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, The Strokes, Pearl Jam, Wilco, and more. Since 2016, they have been shattering ear drums with their melodic jam-band spin on alternative rock. The now Chicago based quartet released their self-titled debut EP in 2016 and dropped their first full-length album, Stay Away from the Aliens, in 2018. This year has been an exciting year for these rising stars as they’ve stayed busy recording new music, playing at clubs all around Chicago, and finally performing at LaureLive in June.

You won’t want to miss the debut performance of BEACHWEEK, a pop-rock band that promises a high energy show with infectious melodies designed to get you dancing.

There will be standing room by the bar and stage and GA seating along the back.

The Dead Licks Bio
With rollicking guitars, warm keyboard and raspy, hearty lead vocals, The Dead Licks exude the same intoxicating euphoria you felt when you discovered your first favorite band, locked yourself in your bedroom and absorbed their music with every drop of your soul. With live shows characterized by extended jams and spellbinding guitar solos, The Dead Licks capture the kind of infectious, unspoken electricity and unrelenting jot that can only come from a group of best friends.

Comprised of close college buds Jack Grbac (guitar), Tom Inzinga (guitar, vocals), Jimmy Gallagher (drums) and Johnny McNamara (base), The Dead Licks owe their existence to a happenstance internet exchange- Grbac’s unsuspecting email to their college recording studio and a reply from Inzinga. They quickly became a staple in Dayton’s live music scene and decided to set their sights even higher. They’ve since headlined Cleveland’s Grog Shop and played Chicago’s House of Blues, Schubas Tavern, Reggie’s Rock Club, and are currently working on new material to release in 2019 during shows at Music Box and LaureLive.

Through the course of two months earlier this year, The Dead Licks worked on what was to become the first two singles off their planned second album. During this time, the band worked full time, and rehearsed every night to be prepared to record the two songs. “What Happened” and “Shapeshifter” were recorded at Treehouse Records in early March 2019. They will be released in May 2019.

BEACHWEEK Bio
Currently in the studio recording their first EP, this group is no stranger to the CLE music scene. BEACHWEEK is fronted by Chayla Hope and George Chase, formerly of such bands as Seafair and Bare Essentials, respectively, to name just a few. This is their first project together, but their chemistry is evident. Bass player Daniel Lee and drummer Stephen Nicholson, on the other hand, have been playing in bands together for 18 years. Some of the bands you may recognize them from include This Is A Shakedown, Ragers, and Leah Lou & the Two Left Shoes. Britton Roberts is an extremely talented guitar player and singer as well as a prolific songwriter. Britton has released several solo projects and has been the front man for bands State Fair and Darklighter. Combined, this is a group you do not want to miss!
