Artifact Encore Performance

A Very Rare and Intimate Small Hall Show

Why you should see this show…

The Choir will be performing songs from their 2018 release Artifact: The Unreleased Album

This release documents the sessions the band recorded in February 1969 at The Legendary Cleveland Recording Company. Artifact: The Unreleased Album was engineered by the legendary Ken Hamann, who would buy the studio the following year. Ken also engineered and produced many nationally charting hits including The Outsiders’ “Time Won’t Let Me,” The Human Beinz’ “Nobody But Me,” The Lemon Pipers’ “Green Tambourine,” The James Gang album Thirds and seven albums featuring many hits by multi-platinum selling artist Grand Funk Railroad.

The original masters of these recordings were largely lost for almost 50 years, and then found intact in the care of Ken Hamann’s son Paul, who carefully stored the tapes at his Suma Recording studio. These tapes became the 2018 critically acclaimed Omnivore Recordings release Artifact: The Unreleased Album.

The circa 1969 version of The Choir who recorded this album and who will be performing this show includes:
Jim Bonfanti: drums, vocals
Ken Margolis: piano, vocals
Phil Giallombardo: organ, vocals
Denny Carleton, bass, vocals
Randy Klawon: guitar, vocals

Jeff Soukup Bio
Singer-songwriter-guitarist Jeff Soukup has been active in the Northeast Ohio music scene for over 20 years, both performing his own songs and contributing original material to other artists. Among Jeff’s achievements are original songs and vocals for the very popular local band Boxer’s release “By The Seat Of Our Pants,” Jeff’s acclaimed solo release “The Ride Music Project,” and several years performing classic rock covers with The Jeff Soukup Band. Jeff will be performing a career spanning 30-minute acoustic set of original material to open this show.
