    Hi Everyone,

We are excited to be reopening the Music Box. We plan to continue our storyteller series this summer, but we are moving it to Thursday nights.

We are also making another change. We need to spread out our guests for appropriate social distancing. So, seating will be limited. We are asking people to purchase a $5 food & beverage voucher to confirm a seat. This voucher will be good on this night only. A little ‘skin in the game,’ so people are more likely to show up and enjoy the night. We won’t have seats go unused.

We will be strictly adhering to all the guidelines issued by the State of Ohio. So, you can be assured we are doing these safely.

    Mike Miller

P.S. Please be sure to still make a dining reservation in Open Table.

In accordance with Ohio regulations, congregating is not permitted, so plan to enjoy the show from your seat. Table reservations are required, and our host will seat you at least 6’ from the next table.

We kindly request guests depart immediately following the presentation. Feel free to visit outdoors, with other patrons, following distancing guidelines.

Story topic this week…

The Rise & Fall of the Cleveland Mafia – Back by popular demand, Rick Porrello returns to tell stories about Cleveland’s history with the mafia. Pulling on stories from his book “The Rise & Fall of the Cleveland Mafia”, Porrello tells the fascinating chronicle of a once mighty crime family’s birth, rise to power, and eventual collapse.

Rick Porrello Bio

Rick Porrello is a police chief, drummer, and author of three books including To Kill the Irishman – the War that Crippled the Mafia which is now a major motion picture starring Ray Stevenson and Vincent D’Onofrio, with Val Kilmer and Christopher Walken, and was also the basis for a documentary. His current title, Superthief – A Master Burglar, the Mafia, and the Biggest Bank Heist in U.S. History was the primary source for a documentary and is in development for a motion picture.

Rick is executive or consulting producer on several film projects. He is a popular presenter of Cleveland mob history, and his writing, publishing and book-to-film experiences. In addition to his career in law enforcement and interest in writing, Rick is an accomplished jazz drummer who spent two and a half years traveling internationally with the great Sammy Davis Jr.

The goal of the Cleveland Stories Dinner Party is to bring to life some of the fun, interesting stories about Cleveland’s past – from sports, to rock ‘n roll, to Millionaire’s Row, — the series will focus on tidbits from Cleveland’s past that will really thrill the audience. The Music Box is presenting this series in partnership with the Western Reserve Historical Society’s new Cleveland History Center. We think the Cleveland History Center is one of the most important museums in Cleveland. An unknown gem that Clevelanders should know more about, and support. It is the only museum in Cleveland dedicated to preserving and documenting the history of Cleveland. The Cleveland History Center includes two mansions, the Crawford Auto Aviation Museum, Chisholm Halle Costume Wing, Research Library, Kidzibits Hands-On Gallery, rotating exhibitions, and the Euclid Beach Park Grand Carousel.
