Ireland's Best Acoustic Crossover Band

Irish Acoustic Music at its Finest
Why you should see this show…

Sometimes referred to as an Irish Music Dream Team, Lunasa has recorded with some of the biggest names in music, including Bruce Springsteen. This may just be the hottest Irish acoustic group on the planet.

Lunasa Bio
Named for an ancient Celtic harvest festival in honor of the Irish god Lugh, patron of the arts, Lúnasa is indeed a gathering of some of the top musical talents in Ireland. Its members have helped form the backbone of some of the greatest Irish groups of the decade. Bassist Trevor Hutchinson was a key member of The Waterboys, and later he, with guitarist Donogh Hennessy, would form the dynamic rhythm section of The Sharon Shannon Band; Ed Boyd (Flook, Michael McGoldrick Band) has recently replaced Hennessy; Fiddler Sean Smyth is an All-Ireland champion who has played with Donal Lunny’s Coolfin; Kevin Crawford, considered to be among the finest flutists in Ireland played with the acclaimed traditional group Moving Cloud; and piper Cillian Vallely of the famous Vallely artistic clan has performed with Riverdance and recently recorded with Bruce Springsteen. Folk Roots magazine has rightly termed them an “Irish music dream team.”

Andrew McManus Bio
Andrew McManus is a singer-songwriter from Armagh, Northern Ireland. Growing up at the tail-end of the Troubles near the ancient Celtic site of Emain Macha, Andrew was heavily influenced by the local myths and legends of Irish literature that were set there; the tales of Cú Chulainn, Queen Macha, and the epic saga of the Táin Bó Cúailnge. These stories deeply inspired his creativity and a love for Irish folk tunes which led him to producing artwork and music with a distinctly Celtic and ethereal quality.

Andrew has played music throughout his entire life. He was a member of the South Ulster Youth Orchestra and has performed as a solo acoustic singer-songwriter in pubs and coffee shops around Ireland and England. Andrew now lives in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, where he is gaining a following in the Irish community playing his music around local venues.

Andrew has just released his first EP of original songs and is currently recording his first full length album.
