Here’s Why You Should Attend

This month, Film Pro Ivan Schwarz will discuss how to get your first job in the film industry, and kick off the conversation for the audience to discuss and contribute their ideas. After a short break, some featured films by local filmmakers will be shown (listed below). Following these films, the event will turn into a networking session where the industry can catch up on each other’s projects. Film Café is free to attend, and will feature some fantastic food & beverage specials. We strongly recommend you sign up in advance to ensure a seat at the table!

Ivan Schwarz Bio

Ivan Schwarz has been President and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Film Commission (GCFC) since 2007. He is committed to building a year-round, sustainable media industry through job creation, workforce development, and attraction of media productions to Ohio.

Ivan has over 30 years of experience in the film and television industry. Prior to joining GCFC, he was a Co-Producer on the HBO mini-series Band of Brothers and a Location Manager on Entourage, My Name is Earl, The Comeback, From Earth to the Moon, as well as on many other films and television programs. He has worked all over the world alongside top industry professionals like Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.

While at GCFC, Ivan has been involved in bringing to Cleveland many box office favorites such as Marvel Studios’ Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers, Draft Day, Alex Cross, Funsize, Bad Grandpa, Take Shelter, Kings Of Summer The Fate Of The Furious and most recently Matthew McConaughey’s White Boy Rick.


Dr. Scott E. Brosius

ScottBrosiusDr. Scott E. Brosius, MBA, is veteran filmmaker with over 15 years of filmmaking experience. He has Produced and Directed: 2 feature films, 32 short films, and 13 48 Hour Film Project films. His films have been accepted at 27 different film festivals, internationally, and have won over 20 different awards, including best film in a specified genre for several films. Scott is also a highly experienced Director of Photography, Editor, Sound Engineer, and Colorist with over 50 short films under his belt. Over the years, Scott has acted in several films and has been nominated for best actor at 3 different festivals for 2 different films.

Jessy Leigh

JessyLeighJessy Leigh is an actress and writer, known for Letters to R (2014), Julie of the Jury (2019) and Goodbye, Ohio (2016). She has worked on various projects throughout New York City, Cleveland, and Los Angeles. She also worked on a series of comedic mini-sodes promoting the New York Times Bestseller “The Whore of Akron.” Jessy also performs in many live sketch and improvisation shows around New York City.

One woman’s day serving jury duty turns into a wacky eternity.

Antonio Harper

AntonioHarperAntonio Harper doesn’t look like a filmmaker. He’s 6-foot-8 and was destined to be a basketball star – until he picked up a camera and started filming his family vacations. He enrolled in Cleveland State University where he met his partner Abby Burton and they began making comedy shorts such as Unconventional Larry, Gesundheit and The Orientation. They also made a web series mockumentary called Credit Hours, two documentaries Through Their Eyes and The Miracle Foundation and plenty of other shorts. Recently, Antonio was the assistant to the production coordinator at the Greater Cleveland Film Commission and in 2017 he worked as Casting Coordination on the feature film White Boy Rick. He’s also working on a feature-length social issues film as well as a set of short films set for a 2019 release. At 23 years old, Antonio has made over 30 award-winning short films, documentaries, music videos and more.

Conrad Faraj

ConradFarajConrad Faraj is a 28-year-old Honduran/American filmmaker based out of Cleveland, OH whose past credits include “The Colours of Desire” and “Fighting the Sky.” His passion for filmmaking started during his early teens, and since then he has worked diligently to create his own unique voice in cinema.

A band of robbers must repay their debt. Winner of the Cleveland 48 Hour Film Project 2018 for Best Film.
