Falling for Make Believe

by Ryan J. Haddad

Why you should see this show…

Acclaimed actor and writer Ryan J. Haddad returns to Cleveland with a hometown performance of his new cabaret Falling for Make Believe, a witty, whimsical portrait of his “show business” family. When he couldn’t find a place for himself (or his walker) in traditional youth theatre programs, Ryan turned to his imagination and his relatives to create The Haddad Theater, a non-actor acting troupe he artistic directed from ages 5-13. The family starred in 10 shows based on Ryan’s favorite films, including Brandy’s Cinderella and All About Eve. From the living room and backyard to the professional stage, Ryan will sing from the shows his family did and almost did, while sharing stories from his unconventional, madcap theatre training. Featuring songs from Applause, Annie, and Into the Woods, this cabaret is a celebration of childhood dreams and a family’s love for the spotlight.

Falling for Make Believe was developed, in part, with assistance from the Orchard Project, Ari Edelson, Artistic Director.
